This program is designed to support biological families. Heartwood represents the internal strength of the tree, from which all the tree’s characteristics have originated, just as all members of the Sheltering Tree have connections to their biological families.
Any family or caregiver requiring in home or community based 1:1 supports for individuals of any age experiencing moderate to severe behavioural needs can contact the main office for more information and fee's regarding Heartwoods' 1:1 Support Program. There is no wait list for this service!
The Sheltering Tree through the Heartwood program also provides safe space where biological families can receive support, education and also a place to self-care and heal. The Sheltering Tree will connect with internal resources as well as community based resources to promote and foster education, support, healthy relationships, and promote stronger family connections.
Heartwood also offers over-night respite services for children and youth up to the age of 21yrs old. If you are interested in learning more about this service please contact the main office for more information and fees.
Heartwood also offers a parent modelling program for families and caregivers requiring more extensive supports and education in providing care for individuals with complex needs. If you would like more information and fees associated with this program please contact the main office.
